Carmen discovered the world of shamanism while working on a documentary that led her to a gathering of the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers in Montana. There she met Doña Julieta Casimiro from Oaxaca and received a transmission from this powerful curandera. Since then, she has studied shamanic healing and information gathering under the tutelage of Sandra Ingerman, Hank Wesselman, Joan Wilcox and Puma Quispe Flores, a Peruvian medicine men from the Q’ero Rainbow Lineage.
Although the trainings from these teachers brought Carmen tremendous practical knowledge, she also highly values the teachings that come from the inner mystery schools of the Egyptian, Peruvian, Avalonian and Scandinavian pantheons — all of which are accessible through the infinite practice of knowing oneself.
Carmen was also trained in Hatha Yoga by Paula Tursi in New York and Patty Townsend in Amherst. She has a certificate in Stone Medicine Healing and is currently finishing her Biodynamic Cranialsacral training.
Carmen was born in Peru from a Peruvian mother and Mexican father and she currently resides in rural Massachusetts with her two children and husband.
