I have always been both fascinated and frightened by life. This might have something to do with the ceaseless curiosity I have for what it is to be alive and how the relationship with the bodymind directly shapes experience. I am a longtime devoted explorer of yoga, movement, creativity, embodiment, and authenticity and; I believe in the power of breath, curiosity, being in relation to doing, slowness, pausing, patience, attention, intention, imagination, intuition, expression, kindness, interconnectivity, nature, micro/macro, and community. The heart of my teaching is rooted in these elements. I consider teaching a great honor and I see it moreso, as a collaborative relationship between myself and each individual. I am fortunate and feel grateful for all of my teachers past and present- this includes many humans, dogs, cats, trees, plants, birds, water, earth, sky, my beloved body and more…. I received my primary certification through The Yoga Studio with Barbara Benagh. I have additional training in the therapeutic aspects of yoga and somatics pertaining to the pelvic floor, back care, scoliosis, parts work, and regulating the nervous system . I would be remiss if I did not include my studies and love for clown, authentic movement, dance and making art, as it is within the interrelatedness that informs the whole of my practice, which is integral to the classes I offer. There is deep wisdom within our very flesh, if we can only come to our senses and feel it. Elizabeth A. Behnke
