Bodywork Sessions with Kate Pousont Scarborough
Zero Balancing bodywork is a hands-on body-mind system that balances the relationship of energy and structure within the bones and tissues of the body. A form of structural acupressure, Zero Balancing uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize. Zero Balancing focuses on key joints of the skeleton that conduct and balance forces of gravity, posture and movement. Zero Balancing can be refreshing and deeply relaxing.
By addressing the deepest and densest tissues of the body along with soft tissue, Zero Balancing helps to clear blocks in the body’s energy flow, amplify vitality and contribute to better postural alignment. Zero Balancing can help relieve stress and tensions within the body and mind, encourage integration and stabilization, and relieve symptoms caused by energetic or structural imbalance. A typical session addresses the spine, hips, feet, shoulders, and neck and lasts around 45 minutes. It is performed fully clothed on a bodywork table.
Kate has been practicing bodywork modalities since 2014. She has had the opportunity to study with many fine instructors, including Michele Doucette, Jim McCormick, Tom Gentile, Judith Sullivan, and Zero Balancing founder Dr. Fritz Smith. Kate is certified as a Zero Balancing Practitioner through the Zero Balancing Health Association and also holds a certification in Thai Yoga Bodywork. Session cost is $70.
